Picture a Day: Jan 4

I didn’t go out today, but I still had a fun project that was a good subject for today’s picture: I put together my LEGO Polaroid set!

I saw a YT review of the set and was psyched to buy it. I saw it at Target yesterday and had to pick it up. Sometimes it’s nice not to have to rely on ordering something online.

This picture was taken with the external flash I finally got myself for my Fuji cameras. I missed being able to use bounced flash to improve a shot’s lighting. I’m going to have fun using it to take better product photos for my fountain pens, inks, and other stuff I’ve been meaning to write about. Yay!

Below is a quick video of how it works. The set comes with 3 sturdy pictures made out of some thin, stiff rubber (?) that can be slotted into the camera to set an elastic mechanism that the shutter button then triggers to eject the photo, as if you took a picture with the Polaroid camera. It’s pretty cute to see it in action. 🙂
