30 Days, 30 Inks: Day 12
The Ink
Day 12: Rohrer & Klingner Scabiosa
This entry fought me the whole way because I had very little left in the sample vial. 😐
This was the first R&K ink sample I bought, since I’d read it was a good dusky, dark purple. I was also curious about iron gall inks, but haven’t seen any of the nib corrosion problems that some seem to worry about. I like this cool purple, but when I ordered a sample of R&K Alt-Bordeaux, Scabiosa sort got pushed aside when I was inking up pens. I still like Scabiosa; I may just need to be in a certain mood to ink it up, though.
The Quote
(Continuation of yesterday’s entry)
Step two, “share it with people,” was really hard up until about ten years ago or so. Now, it’s very simple: “Put your stuff on the Internet.”
The more open you are about sharing your passions, the closer people will feel to your work.
I’m often an oversharer. Almost ever since social networks came on the scene, I’d join and start sharing away. I like the connection of sharing my niche interests and finding others who are like, “yeah, totally!” I may or may not have “good work” (call back to yesterday), but I’m definitely into sharing whatever I have. 🙂 I guess sometimes I wonder if I should bother posting on some topics if many others have already posted, but it’s good to remember in general that only you have your particular viewpoint on a topic thanks to your own life experiences. Go for it!
