30 Days, 30 Inks: Day 26
The Ink
Day 26: Inkvent 2022 - Diamine Flame
I had a different ink slated for today, but decided it was too similar to a previous ink, so I picked out Diamine Flame from my Inkvent 2022 collection. I’ll be up front and say I am not a fan of orange, generally (sorry Brad!). But this translucent bright orange definitely fits the theme of fall inks, both from a changing leaves perspective, and for Halloween!
I guess I do like its translucency and shading. It helps save it from being a straight orange with no depth. It’s probably not an ink I’m going to use much, but perhaps if I do any sketches or watercolors that need an orange, I know I have this available. 😅
The Quote
Teach what you know.
The minute you learn something, turn around and teach it to others.
“Make people better at something they want to be better at.”
- Kathy Sierra
I tend to share my knowledge about something interesting I learned in my research for a given topic, or some random fact I found out. Sometimes it can bring about connection with others who were wondering about the same thing, or those who already knew about it and felt like adding more context. I really appreciate it when I come across someone else’s post about a topic I was researching, so I want to pay it forward.
It is a bummer to know that some people withhold their knowledge, either out of fear of competition, or worse, out of spite, because hey, they went through all the trouble to figure this thing out for themselves, why should they make it easier for others to skip to the end? Such a misguided notion. :smh:
Not to get into a big political discussion or anything, but could you imagine how much better things would be if people were more open about sharing their learnings, not just about simple personal research, but for products and services? Anyway. Something to think about. Feel free to tell me how naive I am on Mastodon, or in the comments here or something. 😝
