Polaroid Go: it's so smol!

I bought myself an early birthday present: a Polaroid Go. It’s soooo adorably tiny!

It’s hard to tell scale in this picture, but isn’t it already cute? 😍

I haven’t gotten too much of a chance to play around with it, just took a few pictures today during work breaks. This morning I took a picture of Sprite sitting in a sun spot with a strong shadow next to it. The dark area in this frame is not a development mistake; the difference in lighting was that stark.

These two pictures of our bougainvillea have no flash (left) and flash (right). The framing isn’t exactly the same. The color also isn’t accurate; these flowers are supposed to be a deep purple-berry color. They get even more washed out with the flash on. I won’t be using the flash on this camera much at all.

I’m going to have to get used to framing with this camera. I’ve never been that great with parallax differences with cameras like this. I definitely prefer framing through the lens. Minimum focus distance is about 1.5 ft, which is yet another thing I have to guess at. I actually am not a huge fan of the fully automatic, fixed focus Polaroid cameras, instead preferring the SLRs, but I couldn’t help myself with the Go. It’s so cute!

Below are some photos of the Go along with an SD card and a couple different cameras for scale — the Fuji x100t and the Impossible Project's I-1 instant camera.

The film is adorable. You’re not going to buy this for its high fidelity. You’ll want this camera if you like the unpredictability and dreaminess of Polaroid (or as close to the old Polaroid as they can get) film. I think this feels more fun than the Fuji Instax Mini cameras. They are more expensive than the Fuji mini film, but I don’t care. 😝 It’s a fun addition to my collection.
